Merry Christmas?

Inn at Lake Joseph
It’s with a great deal of sadness (not to mention some anger) that I mention this:  We've always decorated a Christmas tree at the Inn, and our guests have enjoyed its warmth and welcoming atmosphere.  This year, I added some pretty, gold-plated ornaments that are part of a collection that has a great deal of sentimental value for me.  I put 12 of these ornaments on the tree, and secured them with an extra wire so that they wouldn’t fall off—they looked really festive.  When we took the tree down today, we discovered that 5 of them had disappeared, apparently taken by visitors to the Inn over the holiday.   We found a couple of the wires still dangling from the branches.  I can’t imagine taking something that belongs to someone else, even in a place that's open to the public—I feel like my home has been violated.  If any of the persons who took those little ornaments would like to send them back, I would be very happy to receive them, no questions asked.  It might restore a little of my faith in humankind.
