Well, we finally went to see a performance at Bethel Woods for the first time this summer--Neil Sedaka and the New Jersey Symphony last Sunday evening. Four of us decided to see the show, and we had a great time. We stopped at The Dancing Cat on the way for a "light" supper--I say that advisedly, because the food is great and it's hard to stop eating. Stacy Cohen (the owner) was there and was her usual, vivacious self. She was excited about a competition they had hosted for young musicians--she said they were all so good she couldn't decide on a single winner.
The show was marvelous--I had never seen Neil perform, and he put on a terrific show. He was happy to be playing the Catskills again after many years, and he made such a warm connection with his audience that we didn't want the show to end!
So now we're on a roll, and are going to see John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey with the New York Pops orchestra on Sunday evening. We'll let you know how we like it...
